Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival in Nairobi
Our representative meets you at the airport and transfers you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free. Most travelers use it to rest before an early departure the next morning. Overnight in Nairobi, no meals included.
Day 2 Nairobi to Masai Mara
After breakfast, we transfer you toward the Masai Mara National Reserve, either by road through the Rift Valley or by a short flight from Wilson Airport. You check in, have lunch at your camp, and head out for an afternoon game drive. Expect open grassland, rolling hills, and your first look at the reserve’s wildlife. Overnight at Masai Mara, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.
Day 3 Full Day Game Drives in Masai Mara
Morning and afternoon drives cover the reserve at the hours when animals are most active. Guides track lion, elephant, buffalo, giraffe, and, depending on the season, the wildebeest herds that made this reserve famous. Rest and lunch happen back at camp between drives. Overnight at Masai Mara, full board.
Day 4 Masai Mara to Cape Town
This is the day most itineraries rush through, and it deserves real attention. You leave the lodge early, transfer back to Nairobi, and connect onto a long-haul flight to Cape Town, usually routed through Johannesburg. It’s a full travel day, not a relaxed one. Budget for a tired arrival and a quiet first evening. Overnight in Cape Town, breakfast only.
Day 5 Cape Town city and Table Mountain
A half-day city tour covers the Malay Quarter, Company Gardens, and the Castle of Good Hope, followed by the cable car up Table Mountain. Clear weather gives sweeping views over the city and the Atlantic coastline. Optional add-ons here include Robben Island, the Cape Winelands, and a sunset cruise. Overnight in Cape Town, breakfast included.
Day 6 Full-day Cape Point tour
The drive along the Atlantic Seaboard takes in Sea Point, Camps Bay, and Hout Bay, with a boat ride out to Seal Island along the way. The tour continues to Cape Point through Chapman’s Peak and finishes at the Cape of Good Hope, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Penguins at Boulders Beach and Simon’s Town round out the day. Day 7 Departure
Breakfast, then a transfer to Cape Town International Airport for your onward flight home.

Mid-range camps with proper 4×4 vehicles run $300 to $650 per night. Luxury conservancy stays, the kind with private guides and night drives, run $800 to $2,000 or more per night.

Park fees sit on top of the nightly rate and are easy to miss on a headline price. In 2026, Kenya charges $100 per adult per day for park entry from January through June, and $200 per day from July through December. Flying between Nairobi and the Mara costs about $200 to $400 more round trip than driving, but it saves close to a full day of road transfer.

Kenya and South Africa run on different tourism systems, different currencies, and different booking pipelines, so the honest answer is that we build this trip to order once we know your travel dates, your hotel tier, and your group size. Visas and Entry Requirements for Kenya and South Africa
