About

About Us

Alika Adventures runs safaris straight out of Nairobi. No call center abroad, and no stock photos standing in for real camps. The company opened its doors in 2022, built by people who grew up walking these parks, not reading about them in a brochure.
That matters more than it sounds. Someone who has stood at the Mara river during crossing season plans a safari differently than someone working off a brochure photo. Alika’s guides know which camps fill first in July. They know which Amboseli lodge gives you Kilimanjaro at sunrise, and which one blocks the view entirely.

What the Company Actually Does

Game drives are only the start here. The full list covers safari packages, hotel bookings, airport transfers, air ticketing, and complete holiday planning. Ask for a flying safari and skip the six-hour drive, or skip the luxury markup on a budget camping trip. Most companies split those two into different teams. Alika runs them off one desk.
Corporate groups get the same kind of attention. Team retreats, incentive trips, and conference extensions get full planning support, not treated as a side booking. Individuals, families, and companies work with the same team every time. Only the budget and the goals change.

Milestones That Shaped Our Legacy

1986

Founding in Johannesburg

Established as a boutique safari specialist in South Africa, focusing on private game reserves and personalized hospitality.

2002

East Africa Expansion

Expanded operational hubs to Nairobi & Arusha, offering private Great Migration expeditions across Masai Mara & Serengeti.

2012

Indian Ocean Combination Tours

Launched luxury twin-destination packages combining safari adventures with idyllic Seychelles and Mauritius island retreats.

2026

Global Recognition & Sustainability

Proudly serving 50,000+ guests worldwide with 100% bonded protection and sustainable community conservation initiatives.

Where the Trips Go

Kenya is the home base. Maasai Mara, Amboseli, Nakuru, Naivasha, Lamu, and Nairobi all sit on the regular route. Cross the border and Tanzania opens up, with Serengeti, Ngorongoro, and Tarangire close behind.

Beach time comes from two directions. Diani Beach covers the Kenyan coast, while Zanzibar and Mahe Island in the Seychelles cover the Indian Ocean side. Sand after the dust of a game drive. Europe holiday packages round out the international list, a fairly wide reach for a company this young.

Who Actually Runs the Trips

Guides make or break a safari trip. Alika’s field guides carry knowledge no manual teaches, like where lions rest at midday, which waterhole draws elephants at dusk, and how to read a storm early.

That’s the standard here, not the exception. Not just transport and a tent, but a guide worth mentioning afterward.

Why the Founders Started This

The mission is short and direct: build travel that feels personal, not processed. Budget-friendly doesn’t mean corner-cutting here.

The vision goes further than day-to-day bookings. Alika wants to become the name East African safaris get measured against, then carry that reputation past the continent. It’s an early, ambitious goal, but TripAdvisor reviews already lean that way, with guests naming specific guides for spotting wildlife nobody else caught.

An unforgettable Masai Mara safari We had an amazing safari experience with Alika Adventure! Everything was well organized from start to finish, and our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and always made sure we had the best wildlife sightings. We were fortunate to see the Big Five and many other animals, and the guide patiently answered all our questions while ensuring we got great photo opportunities. The entire trip was smooth, enjoyable, and memorable. I highly recommend Alika Adventure to anyone planning a safari in Kenya. Thank you for making our Maasai Mara experience truly unforgettable!

Topsy-Turvy, but still a fun ride. Places visited: Masai Mara, Amboseli, Naivasha, Nakuru, Diani Beach, Nairobi Number of Days : 10 (June 2026) What was good: 1. The accommodation arrangements at all the places were really good with very good amenities 2. Food was very good with plenty of vegetarian options 3. During game drives, our driver Felix showed us animals from very close range and it was a thrilling experience. 4. Since June is the beginning of the season, the tourist crowding had not yet peaked. 5. Weather was largely pleasant. What could have been better: 1. The logistics co-ordination was very poor by the company and it required a lot of our intervention to get things sorted out. 2. Our driver could have been a much better guide. He largely seemed disinterested in communicating. Also, the driving on the highways was very rash 3. Punctuality

Thank you Alika Africa. We had a trip of a lifetime! Our 8 day safari in Tanzania was amazing. Duma was easy to book with, and very accessible throughout our travels. Everything was thoughtfully planned out, from our tent camps, our internal flights, and especially our safari experience. Our group had an amazing guide, Justin. Not only was he a very knowledgeable on everything we saw, he added a bit of history as we travelled. Justin was able to find so many animals and birds, and share information in a way that we came away with a true appreciation and awe for the land and animals we visited. Thank you Alika Africa for curating a wonderful trip of a lifetime.

Great game drives by Alika Daniel (our guide) was very experienced , very friendly took us to the right places at the right time to get the best views of wildlife. Very good game drives arranged by Alika adventures. Stay arrangements at Ol Moran in Masai Mara felt a bit lacking(quality wise). However they did give us a complimentary upgrade to Dusit princess hotel in Nairobi from Concord hotel which was a good touch as we needed a good place to relax after 6 days of game drives. Over all good arrangements from Alika Adventures and would recommend them to my friends and family.

Unforgettable Masai Mara Experience with Alika Adventures We were a group of 10 friends who visited Masai Mara at the end of January 2026, and the experience exceeded all our expectations. The airport pickup from Nairobi was smooth and hassle-free, setting the tone for a well-organized trip. Our Land Cruiser guides, Mr. Danial and Mr. Jacob, were exceptional. Being conservationists themselves, their knowledge of wildlife and the ecosystem added immense value to every game drive. The planning and execution of the drives were excellent - we managed to spot 4 out of the Big 5 on our very first evening drive, which was absolutely thrilling. Both guides were extremely helpful, always attentive to our needs, with sufficient water bottles provided and every request promptly taken care of. Over the course of three days, they became more like friends than guides, making the journey even more special. A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Danial, Mr. Jacob, and Alika Adventures for arranging such a memorable safari. This is an experience we will cherish forever, and we highly recommend them to anyone planning a Masai Mara trip.

7 days Kenya trip with Daniel ( Alika Adventures) The entire trip was well planned and executed. There were minor changes in itinerary but they ensured nothing was missed. In my entire Kenya trip I would like to mention Daniel our guide/driver without whom we would not have enjoyed as much we did now. He is super experienced in game drives and helped us watch all the big 5s in action. He is very patient and friendly just the type you would want for a 7 day trip. I would like to recommend Daniel to all since he stood out with his warmth and experience amongst many trips that I have done across the world.
